I have been a dual credit student at Victoria College for the past two years. They have all been in English classes including ENGL 1301, Engl 1302, and American Lit. The classes were affordable and broken down into payments to make it easier to pay. The professors I have had are Professor Hall and Professor Paulsen. Both professors are very understanding and easy to work with. Both showcased their passion for teaching and their subjects during their classes. The breaks were very reasonable and worked well with my holiday breaks at my high school. I know there are many clubs at Victoria, along with different classes and career pathways. There is on and off-campus tutoring for all classes that is easy access to anyone who may need it. The help hotlines are always available, and someone is always there to help. Victoria College is an amazing outlet when it comes to going to a community college and transferring to a bigger university if that is what you want.
Taking my online classes at first I was really stressed out, but I had to remember that it was a learning process for all not just me. We all adjusted pretty well and the professors were really good with communicating with you if you were to have any problems. Some professors did already know how to do the online classes because they had done so in the past, but even those professors still made sure that everyone understood how to utilize the class. This semester I am taking a hybrid class, so I have a class time on WebEx and then the homework and quizzes are still online. If you are one to want to still try to attend college, but don't want to physically go this would be the best option for you. I really enjoy it because I can do it within the comfort of my own space.
Something that I have really enjoyed about Victoria College is that we are still able to attend school even during COVID. Yes, we have restrictions, but they try and make it as normal as possible. It is very difficult for some to take classes strictly online, but even harder for some to take a math or science. During this I have still been able to attend my chemistry class with some changes to how we do class overall, but it is still really nice to be able to attend once or twice a week.
