Vernon College has everything a potential student needs to succeed. From the online curriculum to in-person, I have no complaints. As a dual credit student, it is very simple to email my professors if I ever have questions. The staff and faculty members genuinely care for your success. I would recommend!
Vernon college is very affordable education option. Although it is summer I plan on taking a summer course so it’s not over for me. The professors are also very involved and invested in the education of their students. I am so glad I chose a small town college instead of a big one which may have been more difficult for me. I’ve taken 8 classes so far at Vernon, and each professor has effectively taught me what I needed to know for the class. I am going to nursing school so it’s important I take as much with me from each class as possible as nursing is very critique. I am thankful I can attend vernon and receive my entire nursing path I want. Although financially it’s a bit rough I plan to keep going and go around the challenges I may face. Becoming a nurse is something I have aspired to be for years now, I hope the cost won’t be what holds me back.
I would definitely recommend going to this school in person, especially if you are wanting to get in some core classes before going into a big university. However, if you're looking for a good school to attend online, this is not the school to come to. Since Vernon is fairly small, the courses are easier to pass, considering that you could attain help more easily. It's very easy to ask the professors questions either face to face. However, there are a few professors who seem magnificent in person that are lacking that same charm online. I had to take one course fully online due to COVID-19 and the class was very challenging for me. I would email the professor with simple questions I had such as "Where should I turn in this assignment," but they seemed to not understand what exactly I was asking. The email I would get in response would say "Just turn it in," so you could see how it can be frustrating not being able to be face-to-face.
