What I like about Northern Vermont University Lyndon is the location of the campus and the natural landscape first and foremost. I am up there studying Atmospheric science so that aspect of it is very important to me. I love being able to take walks around campus and in the woods around campus given the natural features that that part of Vermont has to offer. I also love the Atmospheric science program there. It is the best one you will find in that region of the United states. Overall my experience with the entire campus, my major, location, professors, and food has been very satisfactory.
I absolutely love that class sizes are small, so students have excellent access to their professors and are able to learn in a close-knit community environment. Additionally, professors are almost always experts in their fields. There are plenty of things to do on campus, whether you're a part of student government, campus activities, MEISA (live music), the American Meteorological Society, the gaming club, NVUnity, the Critic, etc. There's also a skate park and a snowboard park! However, some professors really neglect their job and only stay because they're tenured, the administration makes some really poor decisions, and some of the students here are very questionable.
Overall, I've enjoyed my time at Lyndon so far. I made friends very easily, and the campus is small so everyone knows each other. The classes are fun and somewhat easy, class sizes are also very small so you'll get to know mostly everyone in the class and get to know your professor too. The only downside here is the food. The dining hall food isn't the greatest but isn't the worst. I definitely recommend keeping a bit of snacks and ramen for days when there isn't any food you like or you're hungry after the dining hall closes.
