Education wise, good school. Disappointing in that when one earns credentials such as certificates, they do not actually provide you with a certificate. They apparently cannot afford to print a certificate on a piece of parchment paper. They receive two stars for this because the entire 4 years of going to school at VCSU, the terminology that "I would earn a diploma and a certificate" apparently meant they will do nothing more than notate on the transcript the certificate. This was especially irritating as the ONLY reason for completing my degree at age 50 was for the piece of paper that they will not provide. Thousands of dollars spent, and they cannot provide a certificate that was earned so it can be framed.
Valley City State University is a smaller school, which allows for more one-on-one contact with professors. I feel like the professors actually care about my college career since their classes are so small they can learn my name. Valley City State has also created a wide array of opportunities to have fun and meet people. I know students who drive from nearby schools just to come to VCSU activities!
Wish there was more and better parking, love the small family feel of the campus. Would like to see more housing options for male and female students or couples.
