I can say at this point UWSP has made me a different person. It has made me stressed overwhelmed and lost, coming from a family who has had many generations attend UWSP, I can definitely say the scene has changed. I have not enjoyed a single aspect of this university or how they operate, advising is terrible you can expect to essentially do it all yourself, professors don’t bother to learn your name let alone form a connection. The cost of tuition far exceeds the quality of instruction, and the staff as well as student body are unwelcoming and cold. I am a marketing major for reference so I cannot comment on all areas of study but overall I can say from my experience it has been lackluster at best. Good luck!
Stevens Point always feels like home! From students on campus, to faculty and staff, everyone is smiling and happy to make you comfortable. It is a very easy campus to navigate while also having a lot of different buildings and opportunities on campus. It is very easy to get involved and feel like you fit in with the various groups and clubs. Classes are very structured and professors are always willing to lend a helping hand. It is a wonderful college experience that I think everyone should have the opportunity to have.
At University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, I have been pushed to my full potential within the first weeks. The staff and peers who I have surrounded myself with are all people with a thirst for higher education and success. At this institution I have instilled an even greater passion for music which will assist me in pursuing my degree in Vocal Performance. Along with educational opportunities I have also been immersed into social endeavors that have helped me develop a sense of belonging to communities I never had the opportunity to observe and learn about. Stevens Point is a campus that is full of diverse students and faculty who all have a unique perspective on life and learning. And thankfully, my perspective has grown and strengthened in a short amount of time, and will continue to evolve with every semester I spend here.
