University of Wisconsin - Platteville Reviews
Great school for those who love the small-town, smaller classroom vibe. I grew up on a farm and this was a great fit for me as it's located in the rolling hills of Southwestern Wisconsin. Along with this comes a very strong engineering program that is recognized by many larger companies. If you are into having a strong sports team presence, Platteville may not be right for you as it is D3 and sports aren't a strong focus. Although you can have plenty of fun with campus activities, the town livens up on weekends at the bars or at house parties!
UW-Platteville was the perfect college for me to attend. I was from a small town growing up and the thought of going to a big city for college was frightening. I graduated in a high school class of 50. A large university was daunting. UWP was the perfect site with the perfect class sizes. The professors knew me by name and I didn't feel like "just a number. " I received an excellent education in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology, and am so happy I chose UWP for my education. I got into a Master's program after college and completed my degree to become a Physician Assistant. I have been working for 7 years now in this field and loving it. I have decided to return to school this fall to complete my Doctor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies degree and hope to some day become a faculty member at a PA Program. I would not be doing my current career without UWP- it opened my eyes to how awesome a degree in science and medicine could be!
The University of Platteville is a great place! It has very friendly people, good food and it also has amazing academics. When I toured Platteville for the first time I noticed how close the students were with each other and how close they were with their professors. I am super excited about the area also. It is a small town and it mostly contains only college students. I am beyond excited to attend the University of Wisconsin Platteville!
