Coming from a previously over-involved High School Cheerleader who was the President of multiple clubs and Organizations, the opportunities for becoming involved in the University of Washington, I would have to say are INCREDIBLE. It is truly a dream - for the first few months, it was non-stop Husky Spirit immersion. I went to my first basketball games with one of my flatmates and it was super - we jumped up every 10 seconds - I'm sure we burnt just as many calories as the players on the court. Everyone is always super jazzed and really spirited - which is nice as a past-ASB-superfan-kid. Beyond the bleachers, the athletics facility: the IMA (Intramural Activities Center), is the most beautiful facility (perhaps in existence). This gymbuff's heaven has 3 floors of possibility including a climbing wall, swimming pools, basketball court, indoor track, multiple weight rooms, and numerous studios for a seemingly endless list of classes! I'm planning on enrolling in a couple within the new year (yoga/pilates, kickboxing, martial arts, and maybe some form of dance). Athletics at my school is honestly quite great and it has played a great part of my personal college experience.
