The University of San Antonio is the perfect "in-between" school. UTSA has the big school feel that most graduating seniors desire when searching for colleges to attend. At the same time, the school isn't SO big that the classrooms are too big for the professors to even know their students. With my experience at UTSA, all of my classes were a pretty decent size yet the professors could pick out students and remember their names pretty easily. Due to this fact, the retaining information, learning, and the education system there overall was great. Being able to learn here has been very easy for me and fun. Not only is the education and campus ideal, but the student life is also a big factor with this school. All the students seem to participate in all school activities and are huge supporters of the athletics. They are also all very welcoming and nice to all the new students! To anyone looking to attend UTSA, I would fully recommend it!
The best thing about UTSA is definitely the family atmosphere! The school is very large but that makes it even easier to find a group of people that you will fit in with and will genuinely love and care for you. I have met so many people who want to see me succeed and it's so great to have a support system like this! I wouldn't change anything about UTSA! While on campus, I love relaxing and getting homework done in the Sombrilla Plaza, even though I always get distracted by the Fountain of Luck! The Fountain of Luck is just too beautiful to not admire! One experience that I will always remember was RowdyRush! Running onto the football field to cheer on our Roadrunners before games was a great way to meet other freshman and express my school spirit!
I'm currently dealing with a situation where I've already lived in Texas for more than a year and have worked here for only a few months because I had been living with my grandmother. The University of Texas- San Antonio requires that I have 12 consecutive months working in Texas even though I should already be considered as a resident. Now I'm paying 11k a semester with part time courses. I'm currently working in order to make up for those months. Despite that, I enjoy most of my classes. Some professors are very interactive with their students and I love that so many students join in on the discussions given. On the other hand, there are other professors that just give us a textbook to read off on, and then the Exams. That's the entire course! The environment at the school is rather fun. Honestly, it just feels like being at a huge high school! I hope to be able to continue going to this school without such a financial struggle.
