University of Texas at Dallas Reviews
Good school for academics, especially for technology-based majors. Lots of academic clubs, and also several for card, board, and role-playing games. There's even an orchestra that only plays music from video games and anime! Additionally, this school has one of the best esports teams in the nation. It's a great environment for those who are happy to be a little bit geeky. What's great to me is that it doesn't matter what religion you practice, what race you are, your gender or orientation, your political views, or your major; generally speaking, people are pretty inviting and will readily form small groups to play games together, study, or just hang out. It's easy to find a home here even if you aren't normally the social type because there are so many interests represented.
I currently attend UTD and will be a sophomore in the Fall 2019 semester. I like how it's academically rigorous and mainly keeps its students focused (competitive school grade-wise) yet the professors care about us taking the right steps to succeed! The professors make themselves extremely available IF the student is actively willing to improve how they are doing in a specific class. However, there are other ways that UTD could improve student life. I commute and find that most social events occur during the evening when I must be back home as well as many of the organizations' meetings. UTD must have a better way of promoting it and should invest in a more interactive app for all of the social events to be posted on! I feel that not everyone goes on the Galaxy website and look at the Comet Calendar. They host plenty of study sessions and academic events but not enough is done for the social side and if that were to be refined the university would be at an even better standing.
The University of Texas at Dallas is an outstanding school, they prepare you academically and like to challenge you. Not only is there academics challenging and like to keep you on edge, but there are many opportunities available for you. Food is great, getting to meet new people and make new friendships and memories. I would recommend friends to apply to UTD and become a comet..Whoosh!
