I absolutely love UTHSCSA! I am a full time Nursing student there and my experience thus far has been wonderful! The campus itself took some adjustments because it is a huge campus! The professors are incredible, they are all passionate about the students they teach. For my personally that is what makes the school so amazing, is the professors. I am expected to graduate December 2022 and I am so thrilled I cant not wait! I have already learned so much in just one year! I have about one more to go!
The medical school has numerous healthcare professional programs that can garner an interest in anybody. I'm currently in the Respiratory Care Program (RC) and in my opinion, there's no other career choices that can get hands on than this program. I guarantee this program is all about getting hands on with the equipment, machines, and medications that has to do with respiratory and I could say the same with all other programs available in this university. Common issue with students; they don't get enough hand on materials regarding their career path, but respiratory offers hands on materials.
I like how I am able to stay close to home but also experience the college life. I get many free resources through the campus for my mental and physical health. there are many food places on campus and even a free HEB pantry. All the professors are helpful and very open to discussions. The campus is understanding to everyone's situations. I highly recommend working close with the PEACE center, if you need an advocate or struggle with mental health. They help you find the resources you need for free and even talk to your professors for you if you need a louder voice. When it comes to the students, theres a group for everyone and you can easily find them on the main campus. Each club or organization have tables set up to help you explore your options. We also have the greek life on campus and they're constantly looking for their new brother and sisters. We have political groups, groups based on majors, groups for women, etc. The list is endless when it comes to UTSA.
