University of Tennessee - Chattanooga Reviews
I am a future student for UTC, and I have fallen in love with it! It is not too big or not too small, it is just perfect. The buildings are equipped with the best technology available, and the dorms are the best ones I have seen. Those two things are very important to me! The curriculum is outstanding as well. There are various activities all around campus for every individual. If you are looking for a college where you will fit right in and have perfect college experience, then check out UTC. It is truly a hidden gem!
I've had a pretty solid experience so far at UTC. Started in the dorms my freshman year and eventually moving off campus, everything is walkable (including downtown), there is a ton of nightlife, and the resources available to students is pretty phenomenal. Parking is awful - best to buy parking passes well in advance and don't expect to find anything if you're coming from off campus - but the nursing program is stellar and really competitive, as are most of the programs there. I highly recommend because of the size (big enough that you'll meet a lot of people, small enough that you'll feel known in your classes - most are 25-100 people) and the location and price - you can't beat the dorms!
Non tenure track professors put more effort into teaching than tenured/tenure track professors, at least in the CECS department. Food options at the University Food Court is much better than the university "restaurant" offered on campus through an expensive meal plan. UTC is located in downtown Chattanooga. Students who enjoy outdoor activities will enjoy studying here. The city is also host to one of the fastest internet connections in the nation through EPB. The library is an excellent resource. There are plenty of campus events and organizations to take part in. Some academic programs offered are ranked higher than others, naturally, so it's worth investigating. Scholarships are available to mitigate the cost of tuition, which is fairly affordable since UTC is a state school. Honors program is excellent. Construction projects are long, annoying, and a major inconvenience.
