University of Tennessee - Chattanooga Reviews
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga has been one of the more eye-opening experiences I've had in my educational career. While the courses offered are challenging, you will leave each day with something more than you bargained for or expected! The staff in both the common area as well as the classroom have all been extraordinary. The courses offered are diversity-oriented and encouraged which I was thrilled to find out. I have taken courses in African American literature, Women's Studies, etc. This is truly an environment that you are accepted regardless of gender or racial identification! And I have loved all of the opportunities of growth!
I didn't realize how incredible UTC was until I started sharing with friends out of state what I thought were silly details about my college experience—classes about zombies in literature, professors who played hype music at the beginning of class, an Honors study room that looked like it jumped straight out of a Harry Potter book. After doing their due diligences, my advisors trusted me enough to let me break the 18 hour maximum every semester, allowing me to graduate in 3 years and save thousands of dollars. Apparently, not everyone graduates with a contact list full of tenured professors, industry professionals, and local celebrities... I'm glad I did!
I set out to the University of Chattanooga expecting face to face interaction, but with Covid-19 amuck, we have transitioned to an online or hybrid format. Last semester was hectic as it was for most but it was handled with great caution to the students. We were already made familiar with the online experience so it wasn't hard to get acquainted with the abrupt format. Not to mention, the professors really worked with the students to get the work finished in a timely manner. It is very professional!
