There are ALWAYS Protection officers riding bikes around campus, or in their cars. If one isn't nearby on their own accord, the campus is at least being watched by cameras surrounding the blue emergency poles, which offer a direct line to Protection Services. If walking home late at night during the week, Foot Patrol is a service whose volunteers walk people home (within a reasonable distance and not past 2am). All dorms have security measures in place; you either require a card key if you're a resident, or need to have someone check you in if you're a guest. I feel very safe on campus, but slightly less safe when down near SITE or Colonel By (my courses don't need me to be down in that area often, so that may be my own unfamiliarity speaking). Occasionally laptops and things get stolen in the library, but that is peoples' own carelessness to blame, 9 times out of 10. Security officers also patrol in the library and there are cameras, but thiefs manage to slip past them.
