University of North Carolina - Wilmington Reviews
The NORMAL online courses are great! Everything is organized really well and the professors provide a great helping hand and are great with communication if you are having trouble. Due to the Pandemic, we had to take online classes half way through the semester and it didn't go very well to say the least. The professors gave us 3-4x more work than we had when we were on campus PLUS lectures to watch/read. It makes no sense that they assigned more work, especially when everyone is so stressed. However, no was prepared for this thing to happen, especially any time soon.
The University of North Carolina Wilmington has a lose-knit community with caring and knowledgable professors! I am a psychology major with a minor in Applied Behavior Analysis. The university has many opportunities for students to be involved on campus. However, if you're like me and like to do your own things outside of campus life, there are many easily accessible recourses and living opportunities off campus as well. UNCW offers countless ways to enjoy clubs, religious organizations, volunteer opportunities, and intramural sports as well! Campus dining also offers many various locations with lots of job opportunities as well. This is one of the few colleges that provides opportunities for undergraduate participation in research labs and field experience out side of the classroom. I was involved in a directed independent study and an internship through my supervised counseling practicum course!
Without this school, I wouldn't be who I am today. It helped me grow and mature. I love the accepting nature of everyone, and the diversity of the school. I love how there are so many classes to choose from. All of my professors were kind, understanding, and helpful. The campus is beautiful, and it is close to the beach. Wrightsville beach and Topsail beach. The nightlife is wonderful and there's always something to do! There's always a place for peace and quiet, but if you want to have fun, you will find it.
