University of North Carolina - Wilmington Reviews
The University of North Carolina Wilmington has a lose-knit community with caring and knowledgable professors! I am a psychology major with a minor in Applied Behavior Analysis. The university has many opportunities for students to be involved on campus. However, if you're like me and like to do your own things outside of campus life, there are many easily accessible recourses and living opportunities off campus as well. UNCW offers countless ways to enjoy clubs, religious organizations, volunteer opportunities, and intramural sports as well! Campus dining also offers many various locations with lots of job opportunities as well. This is one of the few colleges that provides opportunities for undergraduate participation in research labs and field experience out side of the classroom. I was involved in a directed independent study and an internship through my supervised counseling practicum course!
The fitness center is my favorite part of the campus! It had two pools basketball courts, track, weights, and private workout rooms for classes. The fitness center also has a wall where people can climb to the top. They even have workers who help work your workout schedule and nutrition needs. Battleship is very fun in the pool as well. Again, the fitness center is my favorite part of the campus. Everyone on campus is so kind and welcoming as well. The beautiful school is bicycle and skateboard friendly with flat a flat ground so it is easy to ride around.
The campus is beautiful, as well as the surrounding area. A ten minute drive to the beach is a nice way to enjoy your college experience! Most professors are resourceful and willing to help students develop into successful individuals. The only changes I can foresee being beneficial to UNCW, would be to diversify the student demographics. As well as provide more resources for the student population, such as cultural or communal offices. Lastly, my other recommendation would be more parking should be provided through the use of parking decks.
