The University of Nevada Las Vegas has been a great university so far! The diversity of the school is something that motivated me to attend. It feels extremely comforting to walk around campus and see so many people from different backgrounds. It makes you feel welcomed, appreciated, and overall comfortable to be on a campus that values the diversity of the world. The one thing that does concern me about the school is safety. While there are various resources that aid in the safety of students, such as police officers and emergency booths placed in various parts of campus, the area where the university is located is not the best. There have been a few reports since I started attending of students getting robbed and assaulted in parking lots. The university has taken measures but I, along with other students, believe that there is more that the university can do to keep its students safe.

What I enjoyed about the University of Nevada - Las Vegas, was the campus architecture. Building to building was breathtaking and marvelously done. The scenery of the city from atop certain buildings to the scenery of the sitting areas. I was also thoroughly in awe of what academic help the school had to offer to its students. As we drove around campus, we came across many locations that offered free tutoring and help. Our tour guide had explained to us that the school wants to help their students achieve their goals and plans, as well as build their willingness to learn and grow.
Although I know the school may not be perfect, I believe that their intentions are for the good. They prioritize their students as they are the "future" of tomorrow and I admire that deeply!
I'm starting my freshman year of college at UNLV this Fall 2019. I am beyond excited to start my first college experience at this university and all it has to offer. My peers say that I'm attending a college close to home is due to my fear in leaving my comfort zone. However, this is not the case and far from the reason I chose a college in my hometown.

UNLV was one of the three major universities on my radar. Aside from a local college, my options were set on USC and USD in Southern California. After a recruiting team organized an educational pow wow for seniors in my high school my thoughts to enroll at UNLV were very slim. I was educated on programs available in my interests and resources to assist me achieve my goals as a new member of the Rebel family. The enthusiasm I witnessed on this day motivated me to want to learn more about my major and where this field can benefit me in the future. They had me locked in!
