I will be going into my second year of school here and I am still here for a reason! The University of Minnesota Duluth campus is amazing! Its just a few minutes form downtown, has state parks fairly close and a lot of good food restaurants just waking distance. One thing that makes my school unique is that since we have one of the harshest winters in the state of Minnesota, we have underground tunnels that connect to every single building. This makes it easier and so much more comfortable from waking class to class even if its a snowstorm outside. My favorite thing to do after class is go to canal park. That is in downtown Duluth and it has shops, restaurant, museums and everything else. There is always something to do and a different thing for each season. Such as in fall, there is a ship that creates itself as a haunted house that tourists and locals can walk through.
Before starting my first year, all I heard was how terrible dorm rooms are so I was very nervous yet excited to be sharing a room with not one other girl, but two. I have never shared a room before and I honestly had an amazing experience. My roommates and I gained amazing life long friendships as well as my floor mates and I. Not only was the room great but my R.A. was amazing. He always set up different activities so that we could meet others and it worked very well. The best part about the dorm rooms though were that they were connected to the dining center and it was only a 3 minute walk that you could totally go to in your pajamas!

The University of Minnesota, Duluth is a grand college that promotes individuality and wants their students to succeed. Professors are welcoming and always ready to help. The selection of majors and minors is fairly good. There are plenty of clubs, intramural sports, and student organizations to keep anyone busy. There is a wonderful event called UMD Paws that brings in animals once a month to help stress levels. During the weeks leading up to finals there are events with activities that help to forget the stress of studying or provide a better study environment. Campus also has great study areas all around. Overall, UMD is an incredible school that welcomes all people.
