UM-Dearborn's most valuable quality is the close-knit atmosphere that it creates. Since it's a small university, making friends and gaining connections is fairly easy. However, the small school vibe comes with a price.
I, personally, didn't enjoy the lack of livelihood on campus each day. Some people may enjoy the quietness, but most of the time, it's just plain boring. The University Center is the only building that attracts a crowd, and that's only because it houses the only place on campus to eat: a mediocre Picasso Cafe.
My classroom experience wasn't necessarily negative, although it was consistent with other aspects of the school. Classes were boring. The truth is, enthusiastic and engaging professors are rare at UM-Dearborn.
Finally, to end with a positive note, the resources on campus are easily accessible. Resources like the Math Learning Center, the Writing Center, and plentiful computer labs throughout campus are helpful in aiding students reach their goals.
