What I like about Jamestown the most is its community like location. It is a type of college that doesn't make you feel out of home, lost in a big city. Even though its size is not large, the welcoming everyone has given me is. The campus is beautiful, organized, and they have great programs for many careers one would follow. I've talked to an athletic coach, and athletic recruiter, and a professor. And all of them were very helpful and welcoming. When I spoke to them it didn't feel like an interview you were pressured to answer everything correctly to their standard, it was more like a formal conversation you were having with a friend. It wasn't nerve wracking or stressful. All in all I personally believe that the University of Jamestown is a great overall college that one should consider.
I am half way through my second semester here at Jamestown. I came here from Phoenix, Arizona with very few expectations simply because I did not know much about the state or community. I have to say that my time here at the University of Jamestown has been great. As a business major, I feel that I am off to a great start on my educational journey. My fellow students have embraced me with open arms and I have made a number of great friends already. As far a what I wish were different, the small private feel is great but from time to time can get boring. Life outside of the classroom is not too eventful either, so if you are looking for the "college experience", you will be disappointed for the most part. Also, the food in the dining hall is definitely nothing to write home about. Overall, I am very glad I made the decision to come here.
I have only taken one online course through the University of Jamestown. It was an 8 week course called Principles of Macroeconomics. Take my feedback with a grain of salt because I do hate online courses as a whole. While I feel the class was fair, it was difficult to feel like I was learning to my fullest extent due to the impersonal aspect of it. It was not a terrible experience, but I would certainly recommend taking a course in person vs online if you have the option.
