If you want the best, most memorable college experience and also be academically successful then the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is the university for you. There are more than enough libraries for anyone to study for, plenty of fraternities and sororities for anyone to join and find the right fit for them, many restaurants that will always fill anyone's sweet tooth, and everyone on campus is very welcoming and always willing to help. I live about 3 hours from home and the bus company is very inexpensive and I can always travel home whenever I feel homesick or need some of my mother's delicious foods. It's easy and fast and everyone who attends this schooI still talks about it for the rest of their lives. I highly recommend this university to anyone looking for a school that will give them the best academic and social experience!
Review University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
University of Illinois is exactly the college I was searching for in high school. Being only two hours away from home, I did not expect it to be very different from where I grew up, but it is! University of Illinois is extremely diverse, unlike anywhere I have lived in my past. Urbana-Champaign is a town that allows college students to flourish and learn in a way I have never seen before. It is very easy to meet others, excell in classes, and get to know professors.
This has been my dream school since I was about 5, and am glad I followed through with that dream! I come from a town of 200 people, and the switch to a ginormous university wasn't all that stressful. The school work is stressful and demanding, but that's kind of the point, they want you to do well! (Some professors don't care if you show up to their class, let alone for you to do well, but that is the minority)
The diversity could be worked on, but it is much better off than most of the other institutions, especially so in Illinois.
