University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Reviews
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is a great institution for higher education. While it is true that UIUC is known for its Engineering and Business programs, exceptional professors and other resources are available across the board. Alongside stellar education, campus life at this university is awesome. There are so many fun things to do around campus, including bowling, shopping, and simply going out for a meal with friends. University recreation is also stellar, including workout equipment, pools, and rock-climbing. Overall, UIUC is a great school! Go Illini!
As the University is a large institution, it offers students so, so, SO many diverse opportunities! For example, I wanted to study abroad in a Spanish-speaking country, and the university offered multiple study abroad programs! I also wanted to get experience presenting research at conferences as an undergraduate, and I was able to present at a different on-campus conference each year--starting just my first semester of freshman year! Need a grant to do research as an under classman or upper classman?? Fear not! The university has research grants that students can apply for and use on campus or anywhere in the world. PS. The university's pervasive drinking culture may very likely annoy you, like it annoyed me, if you are not into drinking.
I had a great experience at this university. It was my number one choice and I have not once regretted my decision. I majored in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Child and Adolescent Development. My professors were incredible and so helpful. My advisor was an amazing resource. I participated in a part-time job, research, volunteering, study abroad, internships, practicums, various student organizations, and more. This school has so much to offer and I wish they had a graduate program of interest to me so I could attend again!
