I will be an incoming freshman at this college. However, my dad, his siblings, and multiple friends of mine have attended this school so I visit quite a bit. I've been to parties with my friends, on strolls around the campus with my family, and on official college tours here. It's a great college town, and most people who I talk to who have come here say that there is always something to do, the academics are great and will land you a good job somewhere, and overall, they had a great college experience. I hope that I get accepted here so I can experience what it's really like to be a student!

UIUC is a great school with lots of options for everyone. There's always something new to do and see and the academics are nothing to complain about. I'm a physics major and some of our professors are simply fantastic! The only academic complaint I have is the intro math courses: unnecessarily competitive and disorganized. Other than that, I've never had a class I didn't enjoy. The physics department is particularly impressive, except for its distinct lack of coffee (it's time: get a cafe in/near Loomis already).
Not only does the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign have a beautiful campus, the community is thriving and accommodating. No matter what your interests, there is most likely a welcoming group of people out there waiting for you, who are very passionate and involved in that interest.

The professors that I have had so far have done a very good job nurturing my interest in the classes I have taken, and I can tell they all took their jobs seriously. I have never felt that a professor or TA wanted me to fail, and they have actually been very open in them wanting their students to succeed.

There are resources across campus for basically anything you could possibly need, ranging from disability accommodations to a tenant union to financial advising. Some of those resources get very busy and harder to access at certain points in the school year, especially mental health resources.
