Oh, UCF! That's the University of Central Florida, located in Orlando. It's a pretty big university with a bustling campus and a diverse student body. UCF offers a wide range of academic programs, from business and engineering to arts and sciences. They have a strong focus on research and innovation, with plenty of opportunities for students to get involved in hands-on projects. The campus itself is quite impressive, with modern facilities, beautiful green spaces, and a lively atmosphere. UCF is known for its school spirit and has a strong athletic program, especially in football. It's definitely a popular choice for many students in Florida and beyond!
I like my specific major department and it's professors. However, the advisors often give incorrect or outdated information, and not all colleges (ie College of Science, College of Engineering and Computer Sciences, etc) have an equal amount of opportunity. Some colleges are more active with pushing internship, job, or general career advising than others. It creates a sense of disparity. Additionally, many majors suffer from extremely occasional course offerings. This leads to the common moniker "U Can't Finish" and support and accommodations are rarely provided despite the fact that scheduling around these sparse course offerings is hard. Regardless, the quality of education is relatively decent and it's one of the cheaper public universities in Florida.
My experience at UCF was an incredible one. Being a music student, you are encouraged to seek out professional opportunities immediately when reaching college. This will out you ahead of the curve. When asking my professors about such opportunities I could get myself involved with and network, they consistently pointed me in the right direction and I have become a working processional in the Orlando and Florida music scene before leaving school. I’m extremely grateful for their help and guidance.
