The unique culture at UC Berkeley is the headlining characteristic for me. The inclusive, encouraging, open-minded, and forward-thinking values of the university directly reflect in the student body. I believe it is apparent that the admissions office prioritizes applicants who hold these values in order to uphold this community. As this is my second semester, I have experienced several classes, most of them humanities oriented. My main takeaway is that all of these classes have been taught through a progressive lens that is unique to Berkeley. This lens is in line with the culture I mentioned above, and I find it extremely positive. As far as my dorm experience, I sought to be placed at Clark Kerr Campus. It is a fifteen-minute walk from campus, but is nestled in nature, has impressive amenities, and has the largest dorm rooms. The nature factor is crucial given the lively character of the city. All in all, I am incredibly happy with Cal and would not give it up for anything else.
Cal is absolutely amazing. I’m a cs student and the facilities are top notch, super friendly, and inspiring.
I liked how the decision came out really fast! UCB provid a variety of studies and research field and their food are really delicious.
I stayed overnight at UC Berkeley for a program, and it was the best experience of my life. Although the dining hall food could be a little better, the people and vibe around the campus was right for me!
The students make the school great. In the physics and math department students are dedicated which makes you more dedicated. You will learn more here than at most schools.
The school was rigorous and also provided an immense amount of clubs, extra-curricular activities, and community-building opportunities. I was able to move from being undeclared to loving my major and college. I was able to learn as much outside of the classroom as in. I was able to grow academically and be extremely well prepared for my future career.
I love it here! The atmosphere is amazing and there's a much larger social scene than I was expecting. The food and housing can certainly use some improvement, but I love all my classes, the campus is beautiful, and overall it's amazing.
The college is amazing. Not only for academic purpose but for other activities also. Be the one to get a chance to study in this college
UC Berkeley is an incredible university that puts a lot of effort into ensuring its students feel welcome and safe. During welcoming week, there were several activities focused on cultivating a sense of belonging for the new students. Additionally, safety was at the heart of many opening activities which allowed many students to learn about how to approach and handle various situations that may arise while in college. There are many resources to support the mental health of students, which are extremely helpful. The professors are pretty understanding, but the administration is rather disconnected from the rest of the UC Berkeley community. Overall, the food is alright, but you shouldn't come to Berkeley just for the food.
As a student just coming here, I really love this school. It's been such a great, yet challenging experience. I'm very excited about all the opportunities here and the years to come!
great school; i’m proud to be a student here. the opportunities at berkeley are endless and the people here are overall very nice, despite some being a bit pretentious at times. but that’s what you should expect from a top university. the city of berkeley itself can be a bit sketch, but as long as you don’t walk in certain parts of the city at night by yourself, you should be okay.
The students at this university are like no other. Despite a lot of challenges, it is undeniably worth it to go here.
UC Berkeley is a wonderful college to gain new knowledge and experiences. Tough as it may be, the college provided me with new sights and wonders.
Very good, I took a tour there and the guide was very helpful! The students looked like they were very busy and the environment was very studious.
Coming from Los Angeles County, I've been able to experience so many new things here in the bay area and UC Berkeley. I've met new friends, tried many new foods, and visited San Francisco. The professors here are amazing and inspiring.
Very intelligent professors and well planned lectures. Kind and spirited community. Beautiful campus.
Academically rigorous. I feel like i'm actually learning a lot every single semester. Very flexible schedules and I am able to pursue anything I find interest in.
