I loved my experience with the University of Alabama at Birmingham so far! The campus is exhilarating, especially because it stretches over several blocks of Birmingham. There are "blue lights" on every block, making it a pretty safe campus. The dorms are nice, and so is the recreation center. The cafeteria always has good food, but there's also tons of restaurants around the city to choose from! This campus is probably the best in Alabama for diversity within the students. Overall, it's a great school with great students.
One of the things I love most about UAB is the diverse and vibrant campus community. You'll meet people from all walks of life, which makes for a rich and inclusive environment. There are so many cultural clubs, student organizations, and events to get involved in, and it's been a great way to make friends and broaden my horizons.
As a science major, I appreciate the emphasis on research at UAB. The university is well-known for its research programs, especially in the medical and healthcare fields. I've had the opportunity to work on some exciting research projects alongside professors who are leaders in their fields. It's a fantastic way to gain hands-on experience and build a strong academic foundation.

I enrolled at UAB in the fall of 2020 and I absolutely love it! UAB has a very diverse campus in the heart of an urban city. There is so much to do in Birmingham and the university does an amazing job at providing resources. I was concerned about coming to college during the peak of the pandemic, but UAB did an amazing job at ensuring the safety of each and every one of its students. I highly recommend UAB to anyone, especially if your interests are science-related. UAB has so many research opportunities for undergrads in almost all fields of education. It is a great place to have hands on experience!
