SUNY Albany's fine art & art history faculty were wonderful. They were not absentee staff that were only approachable during the one hour of availability posted on the office door. The classes when I went there, leaned toward the classical ideas of fine art. Printing, drawing and painting, photography, and sculpture. However, when students voiced their need for more "contemporary" art classes like digital imagery, SUNY staff listened! Our graduating class attended SUNYA's very first digital arts class., and it grew from there. Four stars just for that.

The campus was made for an arid climate. The New York winter winds whip through the open concept design.

UAlbany is an excellent school in the SUNY system, and students there definitely get their money's worth when it comes to education.
Yes, UAlbany's campus might be very large, and it might take a while for new (and even some returning) students to find their way, but after spending some time on campus, you'll know everything like the back of your hand. Another advantage of UAlbany's size is that it's very easy to find like-minded people- with around 15,000 students and around 200 clubs and organizations on campus, it's also extremely easy to find someone who wants to be your friend!
SUNY Albany is a very diverse school. You can meet people from all over the country as well as all over the world here! Being in the Criminal Justice program I can personally say it is a great program and I would recommend this school to anyone who would want to major in Criminal Justice. We are a Division 1 school for athletics! There is always something going on, on campus whether it be student groups or the University itself putting something together for students to engage in. The fountain in the early fall and late part of spring semester really brings the student body together, and Argo Tea is great!
