I am able to compare a state school versus a community college because I am a former student at Southern Connecticut State University and a current student at Tunxis Community College. The biggest difference I noticed would be financially. Tunxis is the best choice financially and it's also a great school. I have been a student here for two years and I love the teaching environment the professors provide and the resources available to students, such as the academic success center. I highly recommend students to enroll at Tunxis because not only is it extremely affordable, it is great, academic wise!

Welcoming college experience. Staff and Instructors are most helpful and empathize with individual students.
Beautiful library! Professors are accessible on their office hours.
Overall it is a good college to do Associate degree.
Tunxis Community College is a very rewarding school. The faculty are extremely hellpful, kind, and understanding. The professors are highly intellegint and wonderful educators. When you have trouble grasping a concept in class the professors truly deliver the attention and help I am paying for and despretly need. I spent two years at Uconn and I never recieved that from them once. Im very glad I am part of this school and very proudly consider myself at home when im really in class or on campus.
