Some professors are great at online teaching, others not so much... a lot of miscommunication, not willing to help students to the best of their ability. Maybe have trainings for the professor on how to handle students virtually? Give more feed back to students. And not just the negative. This pandemic has hit us all hard and in order for us to get back to whatever normal is, the professors should at least want to work with us. This last semester (summer I), I had 2 professors and they had 2 different ways of teaching. One was completely new to online teaching, but she worked with us to get what we needed done. When we had questions, she answered them. Now for my other professor, all he does is online classes. He was the worst professor I've had in a long time. He didn't help us at all. Any question we had, he would say "refer back to the syllabus". Never once tried to work with us on projects and the grading was even worse. His communication skills just sucked!
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is known mostly known for getting a bad-wrap due to it being in one of the not-so-wealthiest cities of Texas, Brownsville. But I have to say that UTRGV is one of the greatest and most affordable schools in Texas. The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is not a bad university by any means, no matter what people say about it. Is it the greatest? No. Is it the worst? No. But if you are looking for a great education, on a pretty good campus, at an affordable cost, then UTRGV is the school for you! The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley really is one of the best universities in Texas, not to mention that is has been ranked the 4th best university in Texas by “BestColleges.com”, and for many reasons. Great memories will be made here, amazing knowledge will be obtained here, and goals will be accomplished here, I can guarantee you that!
Being born and raised in Brownsville, The University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley has been well exposed to me though friends, family and high school facility staff. To be completely honest, the campus is great! Everyone, including other students and professors, are all there to help one another and most importantly get that "A". I am blessed enough to have been doing successfully for the past 2 years. Such as, earning a spot on the Dean's list, which is due to many of my helpful professors. Whom have helped me expand my knowledge and my abilities. UTRGV is the place to be! I cannot wait to see what my future holds and what UTRGV has left to offer me as I strive for my Bachelors Degree and soon after, my Masters. V's up!
