Ohio State Newark is a good school overall. When deciding where to go to school there are a lot of factors including student life, professors, and especially price. The Regional campus does pretty well in all of these factors. Class sizes are smaller than a bigger college so you will be much more likely to get individual attention from your professors and do better overall. When talking about the professors, most are really kind and really want you to do well. I find myself even searching for specific ones because my first impressions were so wonderful. The overall price is truly the best part. Before transferring to main campus, I got all of my general education classes done for half the price. You essentially get the same education, but much more affordable. The only thing about this campus that I would truly complain about is the lack a true cool experience. I’m this way it’s a lot similar to a community college. Ohio State Newark is really a transition from high-school to college.
The Ohio state university at Newark is a great school for students that need extra help with their curriculum. Attending this school has its advantages due to the fact that the classes are smaller and tuition is cheaper! Because of this students are able to have more one on one time with their instructors for an awesome price. If I could change things I would change the transportation circumstances. Newark is a small city, meaning most students have to live next to campus or commute back and forth to school everyday. Being a full time student it can be a challenge in hash weather conditions and to your gas bills.
I rate Ohio State University as being "very good", on the online learning scale. I believe the Carmen program is easy to use, organized, as well as the app. As stated above, I believe that all classes should offer the options for the availability to be online or in a hybrid setting. I believe the teachers at Ohio State University do a well rounded job as keeping their students engaged through prerecorded Zoom lectures and live action meetings/lectures. I believe my studies are more planned out while attending online classes. I believe reading the class content at my leisure time is more acceptable than being on a strict classroom schedule. I am a single mother, I live alone and work full time. Having the access to online classrooms/lectures and materials late at night, after my daughter is asleep, is much more convenient and gives Ohio State University a more diverse teaching style. Not all students are fresh out of high school with no kids or jobs. OSU needs to adapt to all ages.
