My experience at Texas A&M University- Commerce has been amazing in all areas except housing. The classes are the perfect size, the professors are wonderful, everything is great. The only issue I have with my school is that they are doing so much construction near my dorm that I often have to park all the way across campus and walk to my dorm in the dark, by myself. Commerce is not the safest town in Texas. There were three armed robberies within blocks of campus all in the span of five days. Other than safety concerns, A&M Commerce is a wonderful school!
Review Your College
Being a Lion has give me the opportunity to grow as a student and as a person. During the semester most of the professors I had understood the needs of the students. TAMUC is the best community to start a new stage of life, anywhere on campus there will always be someone willing to help you. Personally I have made new friends, I have improve my skills and gain confidence. Also I have been involved on campus, I am currently part of “Mujeres de Accion” which is a living learning community that provides support to latina women like myself to be academically successful; our house director encourages us to be proud and represent our roots. As members of the community we work as a team to assist other latina students in accomplishing their personal and professional goals through education, leadership, and mentorship. I describe my experience at Texas A&M Commerce University as the best opportunity to have a family on campus, who shares an academic interest. I am proud to be a Lion.
My overall experience has been truly wonderful. The people are friendly and so outgoing! Everyone helps each other with directions. My favorite experience so far has been Orientation! I learned so much about the college, made up skits and chants, and got to compete against other groups! My school is unique because we've got so many different things to do, no matter who you are, there's a place for you.
