The CIS program is a waste of time. I honestly hate to say this because of the mostly positive experience I had with everyone I met at the institute, besides some of the homophobic students I dealt with daily but being someone from the south I'm quite used to it. Back to TCAT they will change instructors for courses half way through a semester leaving students in Limbo. Also it is 5 days a week from 8-2:30 which is honestly too much to ask especially when it may be the only school within a few hours drive that teaches the program you want to take. Honestly I would not recommend going here, everything about it leads to a toxic/oppressive environment only for you to gain nothing.
All of the students here at my school are very enjoyable to be around. There are a very diverse group of people attending, from kids just out of high school to older adults just looking to further their career opportunities. All of the students here are career oriented and focus on learning the material at hand. Everyone here is serious about their education and like to learn more about how they can gain as much knowledge as possible to help them succeed.
I am a computer information technology major, and my classes are quite enjoyable. It is nice to be able to spend a little more time on the harder parts of my studies than to have to spend unneeded time on things I already know. Being that my classes are at a self-pace I am able to go through the information at the pace that is best for me. My instructor makes sure that all the resources I may need are available and never stops looking for ways to improve our education.
