SUNY Sullivan County Community College Reviews
I do not yet attend this college but i personally know two of my family members who went here. They both were attending the college, staying on campus and playing for the basketball team. They have informed me that this college is a great start before experiencing universities. Although i marked average this is a great kick off before you reach the real world. They have a major supply of facility and will be there for you in need while other colleges have more students and cant help one on one. I cant tell you everything because i havent been there but my family members who have attended gave me a good perspective on this college.
I like it here at Sullivan. Many career opportunities available for graduates and students alike. The professors here seem to care about the students and want to help them to succeed in any way they can. The culinary program here is EXCELLENT with great chef instructors, as well as a majority of the professors here. You get what you pay for as far as education goes. Flexible scheduling for courses. Campus is beautiful, especially during the fall season. Definitely go to Sullivan County Community College to save some money.
It's what you make of it, really. I like a majority of the professors in my major. The culinary program at Sullivan is very hands on. From the first class, you are already learning the basics of being a professional chef/baker. Most of the work, as well as quizzes/tests in the culinary program will be done in class itself so it is important that you don't miss a lot of classes so that you are not missing out on an important lesson/lab or test. Classes are usually small, depending on the course and major. The chefs can be quite demanding and strict and sometimes can come across as belittling but it comes from a place of caring. The chefs are very knowledgeable in their skill and definitely do a great job with teaching.
