Potsdam was such an amazing place! The campus is full of diversity and talent. Their arts department, especially the Crane School of Music, is out of this world. You can find some sort of performance nearly every weekend between classes, clubs, and the theatre/dance department. All of the programs that Potsdam has to offer are great programs with amazing faculty and advisors that truly care about the students. There are a ton of different clubs that you can join as well as Greek Life opportunities. There is also a local agency called Reachout that students have the opportunity to train with and subsequently volunteer at. Reachout is a Crisis Hotline for St. Lawrence county. I volunteered with Reachout and loved every minute f it. The food is great, the people re really, nice, and the campus is beautiful. It's also not too far from Lake Placid, the Adirondacks, and the US/Canada border; so, finding something to do isn't a challenge. I loved my time at Potsdam and truly miss it.

During freshman year, I had many experiences in SUNY Potsdam that I didn't think I would have. In the beginning, I was very nervous about settling down by myself in a different area in New York. However, I was also curious to see how everything would turn out without living with my parents. During the first week at Potsdam, surprisingly I was very comfortable on campus and with the student life. The classes were interesting, the food was delicious, and the people on campus were extremely friendly. I was very surprised that my experience came out this way. Before Potsdam, I was a very shy student that had a hard time opening up because of I was scared of being judged. High school was a very tough experience for me because of that. However, because there's so much diversity in Potsdam it made me feel safe to be my true self.
I am a transfer student to Suny potsdam! I love how everyone I spoke to over the phone is willing to help and guide you. Shout out to Terry Francis and Karen Ahlfeld they have been wonderful to me! I’ve yet to step foot on campus but I know I’ve made the right choice to attend this college and I can not wait to start! I know the academics is great from the family and friends I know
Who attend, with wonderful professors I just wish it was a little bit cheaper .
