After going through my first fall semester, I can safely say Stockton is a great university. The school features a wide array of academics to choose from and are very focused on hands on experience. They want students to get involved either through jobs and volunteer work, to field labs and classwork.
The campus is beautiful and located in the the forests of the Pine Barrens. The school is not very high tech, but uses its resources to the fullest. Taking advantage of the areas and local groups around; and the tools they've been given.
Most of the food comes from chain restaurants and there's not much to eat if you're vegetarian. But healthy eating otherwise is promoted and there are stores on campus
One thing that brings it down is it's mainly geared toward commuters. Weekends are bland, even with all the great events planned on weekdays, and you need either a car or a shuttle to get off campus.
Still, Stockton is very welcoming, diverse, and fun!
Review Your College
As a transfer student from community college, Stockton has been nothing but a wonderful experience thus far! It was the perfect transition for me, as well as the most cost efficient. I commute about 25 minutes, and have no problem spending my entire day here. From the library, good food, and campus life, there is always something to do here at Stockton University.
Stockton is a fine university having all the bells and whistles one would expect to find on a university campus. The faculty and administrative staff are second to none. There was never a problem for long because all I had to do was ask for help and it would be solved in a timely manner. The facility is laid out in such a way to ease any confusion. I never had a problem finding anything to complete course requirements, and professors always had time to communicate outside of class. Student housing and all that goes with it are easy to access and again, really great staff help students with all their needs. The facility also boasts a great number of degree programs, and graduate students will find programs for them also. If you are looking for a culturally and social diverse campus, and a strong student faculty community, Richard Stockton University is your college.
