Stephen F Austin State University Reviews
Overall, the campus is very nice, the students are quite friendly, and even the professors are willing to work with your schedule. It's great that the campus is not very large meaning you can walk around everywhere. Even if you don't want to walk, you have the option of biking, taking a bus that routinely travels around different parts of campus, or calling for someone to drive you to wherever you need to go similar to an Uber but for free. There are many things you can do at the school to get involved in like clubs, organizations, and different job opportunities. But like other schools, SFA has its downsides too. Parking can be messy. Sometimes people will drive around for 30 minutes waiting for a spot to open because there aren't enough parking spaces for the students. Wifi connection can also be bad too, so I recommend getting an ethernet cable. Honestly, I'm proud of being a lumberjack here at SFA. Axe 'em Jacks!
I am in my second semester at Stephen F Austin University pursuing a degree in Pre-Dentistry. SFA has really challenged me to stay focused and devote the adequate amount of time to my studies. I'm a fairly smart student that didn't have any issues with Pre AP, Advanced, and Dual Credit high school courses so I figured I would be challenged but should not have any real issues with keeping up with my college studies. I am currently in the Honors Program and let me tell you, SFA does not cut any corners. You will definitely be educated upon graduation!
Great school! It's in a pretty small East Texas town about 2 1/2 hours from Houston. Most students go one of 2 ways: Greek Life or study life! This school is very easy to get into. You do have to live on campus until your Junior year. It's a pretty campus with good walking trails near by. The football team is not good, but the basketball team is pretty good. Class size is the same as you would find in high school.
