The cost of certain services is ridiculous compared to other universities at a similar price point. For example, the dining halls at SFA are a nightmare. While the staff is usually friendly, the food is horrible and costs a minimum of over $1,700 per semester, boiling down to about $8 per meal. People have found roaches in the "clean" cups and raw chicken was served 4 times in a month. My friend even got E. Coli from the salad bar once. Compare this to UNT, where for just a few hundred dollars more a semester, they have 5 dining hall options, and recently their vegan restaurant won an award! I have enjoyed my time at SFA because of the friends I've made, but I could've made friends at another university. I love my program as well, but that is the only thing keeping me at this school.

I graduated in 2016 and I loved every minute of my time at SFA. The school was small and it was easy to become involved in many different associations without feeling like I had to choose. I made lifelong friendships there and a couple vital professional relationships. The campus was gorgeous and somewhat small compared to other Texas schools, which made it easy to get around. My program, the Communications Sciences program, prepared me very well for my previous job as an assistant speech-language pathologist, as well as for my current graduate program, the Communications Disorders program at Our Lady of the Lake (prepping to being a speech-language pathologist). SFA was my home for 4 years and I had an enormous amount of fun while gaining credits and experiences that have prepared me for the next steps in life. I'll always look back on my time there with love. All hail to SFA(SU)!
I love SFA so far! The students here are overall great, along with the professors. They have so many opportunities if you need it to help with classes, along with being able to email/meet with your professor whenever needed. The dining halls however could be better, just due to students finding raw chicken in their food. The dorms are overall okay, but there's always room for improvement. The organizations on campus are amazing, and there is always a club for someone.
