From Stephen F. Austin State University

Stephen F. Austin State University stands apart in the world of higher ed — it's one reason why U.S. News and World Report recognized us as a top performer on social mobility and why Niche continues to rank us the No. 11 best public university in Texas.

SFA ensures its academic offerings remain in line with shifting industry demands. Within the past five years, it has launched an aviation initiative, where students can graduate with a bachelor’s degree and pilot’s license in four years; an agricultural communications major; a master’s degree in publishing; and a Bachelor of Business Administration in entrepreneurship. It added the university’s fourth doctoral-level degree program in 2023 with the creation of the Doctorate in Social Work.

Located in the heart of Texas forest country, we offer more than 120 undergraduate areas of study, over master’s degrees and four doctoral degree programs from which students can prepare themselves for a bright future.
