My overall experience at Spartanburg Community college was excellent. As a freshman, I was very nervous but SCC made it very simple and great place to start at. The professors and students were all very friendly and helpful. I was a student at two campuses and the environment was very welcoming at both. What I really loved was the diversity. Not only with different races and ethnicities, but with the different age groups. I would definitely recommend SCC! It’s a really great place to start!
It has classes for those who want to get a job after two years or want to transfer to another college. Most of the classes could be transfered to most schools in the state, but talk to your Advisor ASAP! There are no dorms and there is no cafeteria that I am aware of, so have your stuff with you. There are vending machines if you're hungry. I haven't heard of the athletics team, so I scored it average.
Spartanburg Community College has great teachers! Every teacher I've encountered is competent, has a great passion for their job, and only wants to see you succeed. Since it's a small commuting college it doesn't offer a variety of on-campus activities or places, in general, to socialize and meet new people.
My experience with the advising, enrollment and financial offices were terrible though. Much of the process of my enrollment was me stumbling around blindly trying to figure out what exactly I needed and none of the offices were very receptive of my cluelessness.
