Spartanburg Community College as an institution fairs markedly well next to some of its fellow State Colleges. It's a community college, so it goes without saying that there is not "college life" (i.e. no athletics, real student housing, night life, etc.). SCC exists simply to be a financial option for members of the Spartanburg Community to pursue their academic interests, and at this it does pretty well (at least within a certain scope of interests). The amount of fields you're able to pursue here are not too widely varied in number, but the options they do have they use pretty well. It has an excellent pre-nursing program and science department. The teachers are all very qualified and willing to spend plenty of time with the students.
Teachers would help students understand the content. The buildings are old and sometimes have maintenance issues. The classes were challenging. There is not a lot of extracurricular activities to be apart of.
The curriculum is very straight forward and understandable. The teachers are always understanding and eager to help you when you are unsure of the material. The class registration process was extremely simple and there were many classes, class times, and campuses I could choose from that would best fit my schedule. Each professor I have is extremely dedicated to my success in the class as they give me multiple resources I can use to supplement my learning. My workload is right where it should be, and I have never felt overwhelmed.
