Southwestern College - California Reviews
Most teachers are excellent! All the staff is kind and happy to help with any issues. The campus is cleaner than most community colleges in the area as well. The school is making a conscious effort to update the buildings as well, the math building is very up to date. I enjoy taking night classes on this campus as the sun is setting, there's a nice view from every part of campus. The parking is also much more available for this college, I have noticed campus police are always nearby to help.
Southwestern college is honestly a very friendly campus; surrounded by informative staff, professors and students. Stepping forth into the campus may not hold the same visual appeal compared to a university; however, looks do not matter as the people within make a true impression. Being an incoming freshman the worries of the unknown and the difficulty of creating mutual relationships between peers, professors and staff subsided once the realization of how welcoming everything and everyone is. The open campus landscaped with trees and grassy areas allows the ability to sit outside with nature amplifying the friendly atmosphere here on campus. Ultimately, Southwestern College exerts the true idea of what a community is and what it should be like.
Overall, SWC is an amazing college! You have your professors who are hardworking and love their students, but also those you can tell are just there to get paid and don't care. I think the school as a whole needs to work on the diversity climate. There is so much tension and strife within the students that is caused uproars on campus and makes it uneasy and uncomfortable at times.
