Southwestern Adventist University is a school that is overall welcoming and caring. Spring 2023 I transferred over to Southwestern Adventist University from Delgado Community College to join their nursing program. I entered the school without knowing anyone but received the kindest and embracing gestures from the students and staff. The professors truly care about their students and do what they can to help us succeed. However, what I would like to see change in the school is for them to offer more ways for students to receive financial help.
What I like about Southwestern Adventist University is that it is a close-knit university filled with diversity and love. They have many extracurricular activities and clubs that you are more than welcome to join. As a current student from Swau I can honestly say that I have had the privilege to meet some of the best staff who care about your future and have made lifelong friends. The professors at Swau are very intrigued in your educational growth and always strive to help you understand the information that is being taught. Although there is always room for improvement I believe that assemblies should not be required but that’s just personal opinion. Overall I’ve had a great experience at Swau and wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. I have grown as a person and have been able to make connections with those around me and hope to one day be able to give back to Swau in the future after I have graduated. Swau will always hold a special place in my heart!
