Southwest Virginia Community College was a GREAT choice for me. Coming out of Highschool, Southwest helped me to figure out the college life with ease. My Junior and Senior year of high school was greatly affected by COVID19. This caused me to be online while trying to finish high school. I feel like due to this, it took away from a lot of the learning experience that I needed to help me be prepared for college. All of the important classes, the meetings with college representatives, and more. Southwest was a great help and very understanding to all my needs. They were very easy to work with. My first year of college was an excellent experience at Southwest!
Great online programs! All of my advisors and professors went above and beyond and contributed to my success. They do not nickel and dime you like other colleges, and will do everything they can so that you can afford an accredited education.
I took both in-person and online classes while attending SWVCC. Most of the workers there were very helpful in getting started for classes and making the process easier. I really enjoyed the classes when attending in-person. I tried to take online classes and it didn't work well for me. A lot of the online classes didn't have lectures. I basically read the text books and tried to teach myself, it would have been more helpful if there were video lectures. Also, if there were not enough people enrolled in a class/program then I wasn't able to take that class. It is a good college to get started in college experience.
