SUSLA is a HBCU that believes in equality and socialism . Although no place is perfect , the Southern at Shreveport staff work hard to function as though the college is. During my collegiate career in the field of nursing, I have ran into many hurdles. This did not deter me from my goal of one day soon graduating from SUSLA Spring 2024 ,with an associate degree in nursing and a minor certification in early childhood education. Some instructors will make you feel low about yourself not uplifting, while a sum of others will make a scholar feel spiritually and mentally empowered.
Overall I love SUSLA , can’t wait to graduate and pass my NCLEX successfully becoming a Registered Nurse.

As I attended Southern University at Shreveport it was Fall and I was a freshman. My major was General Studies and I had a total of five classes. When I went to get my schedule before classes started the campus was very clean and the staff was polite. The administration who worked to place me in class and print out my schedule was very helpful. My first day of class was a little confusing but I made it through the day. I can say after my semester I do miss it and I would do it all over again. The only thing I wish to better my experience is more teachers announcing new information on campus. For example, if there's a barbeque at lunch the next day or a movie night this weekend.
My overall experience at SUSLA is really good. They have amazing food in the cafeteria, the staff is very nice and super helpful when necessary, and the education is pretty good. Whether you're in person or online.
