Southern University & A&M College Reviews
I had a great freshman year experience! I love the small campus and the small class size. They allow students to form closer connections with professors and have a comfortable feel in the classrooms. Another amazing thing about my school is the academics. Students are truly pushed their hardest and are required to maintain certain GPAs to join clubs on campus. This is a great way to make sure everyone stays on top of their game. Southern could improve by adding more street lights to the back of campus. One of the main housing areas is very dark at night, and could make things dangerous for people with night classes.
Nice culture and athletic atmosphere. School is becoming more updated and innovative, however, it can use an update on basic procedures of entrances, finances and its online presence! Completely outdated when it comes to processing of paperwork, fees and maintenance full circle! They lack understanding of setting a great foundation for generations of returning alumni and their families.
The student body on campus is electrifying! It feels like a family away from home. The students are involved in all events around the campus. They also do a great job with making other students aware of opportunities on campus. The professors are good instructors, but they could be better. I transferred from a different college this semester, and I have enjoyed it every since. Overall, I am glad I made the switch because Southern University feels like my new home.
