Overall, my experience with Southern Union was great. It was my major, Dance, that made it great because, I learned an immense amount of vocabulary, movements, and material that will stick with me for the rest of my life. My major also provided experiences that I will remember as well. I performed in 15 shows that’s including the morning ones. You learn that there is always someone new in the audience and you’re never going to get the same reaction ever time so just go out there and do it and you know you did a great job even if nobody else did. In style of dance that was taught there was always something new that I learned throughout the times of doing it so much. So, with that being said come from a Fine Arts major I think it’ll be worth it because you’ll be provided with an amazing director, dean, and team to help and give you and unforgettable experience.
Im starting in 3 weeks, so far the staff has been speedy in answering any concerns or questions I have. Very friendly overall especially veteran friendly!
Southern Union State Community College is a great 2-year college. It offers a variety of different classes that are spread out across its' three campuses (Wadley, Opelika, and Valley). If you are trying to work your way into a 4-year college, this is your best opportunity. The classes are small, and the professors are very willing to work with their students. I highly recommend this college for the students that want to develop into a better student and a better person.
