Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Reviews
I really enjoy attending SIUE and I have learned a great deal. Most often however, it is hard to get responses from the financial aid office if you need help with such issues and it leaves you feeling hopeless in the matter. But aside from this, I do not have any qualms with the school. The professors I have had thus far are always very fair with testing and grading, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure your success, so long as you pay attention and try. I am attending to obtain my BSN and there is no doubt that this is a very competitive program, but it is one of the best in the nation for the price, so it's understandable. I think having Starbucks on campus is a major plus too!
My experience at SIUE has really helped me grow academically as a scholar, and has given the tools necessary to succeed. With that being said, the institution has not been able to contain some of the student's behavior on issues such as politics and religion. This past year alone, there have racial slurs written on various objects around campus, but I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion that's what makes America, America. During the time that this was going on SIUE kept students aware of what was going on, and us, the students, some kind of security by telling us that there would be consequences for the multiple displays of racism.
I loved how approachable and kind the staff and students were at SIUE. The admitting staff was very kind, helpful, and willing to guide me through the application process. They also helped look over the application and made sure I had everything correct before I submitted the application. Secondly I am looking at a biology major, so I spoke to the science staff, They were very helpful and more than willing to show off their top of the line science buildings. These buildings were just completed, and one is due to open I believe in August. Beautiful campus, and very affordable.
