Southeastern Louisiana University Reviews
Review Southeastern Louisiana University
When I visited the Southeastern Louisiana University for Lion Pride Day, I was treated like family! The staff shared very valuable knowledge about my upcoming collage life and cost! I am so grateful SLU reached out to me! I can not wait to attend there campus! The campus is very well kept and clean. So far, the students and teachers really care for each other. Everyone is so respect full of each other and the campus grounds.
Southeastern Louisiana State University is located in Hammond Louisiana, which is about halfway between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, two of the biggest cities in the state. So students have a minimal commute from either direction plus the setting of the university is beautifully landscaped. In the middle of the campus there is an oval shaped drive called Friendship Circle and in the middle is an old lanky tree where people gather to have lunch or mingle and relax between classes. The branches are like long arms hanging down to the ground! The only true concern I had with Southeastern is the parking or the lack thereof. It usually takes several go rounds before you can find someone leaving and then you're fighting to get that parking space before someone else does. The professors there seem genuinely concerned about providing an education that will benefit us an individuals and as a whole. Definitely a thumbs up for SELU!!
I really enjoy Southeastern Louisiana University. The professors are very passionate with their lectures, and are there to help. I have no problems with parking, even though it is limited. Southeastern offers an amazing variety of food. The local area is very quiet, but it is surrounded by fast food restaurants, and grocery stores. Safety is great at the university. There are always campus polices patrolling the campus all day. What I would like to see change is the promotion for student events. I am always in the library, and there is not much promoting in the library. It is already in my tuition to fund some of the events, so I would like better knowledge of the campus events. My experience as a freshman was very decent. My professors were patient, and supportive. They had my best interest at heart. There is this one class in particular that is called "SE 101" that help students understand college life, and notify us on the different resources the school has to offer.
