A lot of people in my neighborhood looked down upon South Suburban because it is a community college in a poorer, minority city, but such people misjudge this school. South Suburban provided me with just as good an education as any other school could have, I believe. I have been taught by some of the best teachers I have ever encountered and learned a lot in my short two years here. I acknowledge I have also had some not-so-great teachers as well, but bad teachers can be encountered in any school anywhere, but with these teachers, I will say it was easy to pass their class. South Suburban has a nice campus, very accessible, and it is very easy to apply and receive official help from any of their offices.

Depending on what teachers you have you may not enjoy this school. There are teachers who do seem to care about their students and want them to succeed, but there are also the ones who only care about getting paid and don't give you the right amount of support that you need. One thing that I do know is that most of the sinks in the bathroom either are broken or continue to break. The elevators also continue to frequently go out of order which is not very assuring. The food in the cafeteria is not that great from my experience since after it was renovated. The breakfast sandwiches are pretty okay, and the tater tots are good, but besides that it's pretty mediocre from what I've experienced. The vending machines are also pretty overpriced. There are nice people to meet there though, so if it was only up to that criteria I'd rate this 5 stars. Most other things concerning this school though are mostly mediocre
