My experience at SDSU has been pretty good overall. A few of the professors literally tell you they are there for the paycheck and that you are the customer. Overall it is a decent school to attend if you are looking for more for your dollar. Most of the students are very polite.
My online experience with my professors has been great. They are very understanding and hard working to make are we are getting the best we can online.
I think it's a great school. They have great professors and all my classes are fun. The food is really good. Dorm life is actually pretty amazing. I love my dorm. The people here are so friendly and helpful. I would recommend SDSU to anyone and everyone.
It was a little rough coming in as a freshmen having online courses. Once I got used to the formatting, it went really well. I do prefer in person classes but my professors made it work online.
Teachers struggle to use Zoom and some teachers know how to do use it. Overall, they charge more to go online which is less fortunate.
Overall, SDSU is a very nice college to attend. They offer many programs for students and the professors are very nice and willing to work with students. The dorms on SDSU are nice. The newer dorm are nicer than the older dorms, but along with the nicer dorm comes more cost. SDSU is located in Brookings, SD. Brookings is a nice town. There are many parks where you can get together with friends and grill out or just chill. Also, college kids that own houses do throw some parties every now and then which are a fun time when you are not studying for classes. I would definitely recommend SDSU for students to attend.
I am currently taking one online course through SDSU. Besides being sent home and finishing the spring semester online, this is my first fully online course I am taking. So far it is going good and I have noticed that I am able to talk to my classmates if I am stuck on something, but my professor also responds to emails within 24 hours which is nice and convenient.
The Professors are not helpful. The advisors are not helpful. I have had an awful time here. The only good things I like about SDSU is that they have Chic-Fil-A here and their Nursing Program is one of the best in the state. The cafeteria food is not any better than at high school. The enrollment process was a hassle and was the financial aid process. They do not help you with anything. You have to figure everything out on your own. Good luck!
The SDSU bookstore does not sell used books. I have to buy my books off a sketchy site if I don't want to pay $300 for one book. Because of Covid-19 I have hybrid classes (half online and half in-person) and the professors are terrible about telling you what their schedule is for the semester. I have had to email every professor about whether or not we have class in-person or not.
South Dakota State University is a very welcoming and unique place to study and live. Campus dorms are very nice and accommodating and everyone feels at home. There are fantastic dining options on campus and numerous activities and clubs to join in on. The athletic facility is very large, clean, and spacious with a variety of activities. This college is a great place to continue life and build upon you’re knowledge and life skills!
I am a transfer student from a small college that did not fit me. I choose SDSU because of it's wonderful people that work there, the wonderful students, and the site. I also choose SDSU for it's Agricultural side of the college.
My online had been a little tough, but I think that is because I am not goo at technology. I do like the idea that I can have the option though.
I wasn’t originally planning on attending SDSU but I’m really glad I did. I love the people I’ve met here and the experiences I’ve had. I also love that brookings is a safe and loving community/college town who all love the jackrabbits!
What I love most about a being student in South Dakota State University is my professors. Majority of them have given me an opportunity to be passionate about my future. One thing I struggle with on campus is the lack of interracial connection. Overall, I will give my school three stars because so many areas of the school need work especially the food.
In general, I have really enjoyed my learning experience in SDSU but some areas need work. Some of our teachers struggle to operate the internet which ends up affecting our progress as students. One good thing about SDSU is we have really good tutors that help back up our teachers.
South Dakota State University at first could be an intimidating college with a lot of students, however the most you live the experience there more you like it. I love my experience in SDSU because I feel like home even though I'm thousands miles away. Everyone is so friendly, all the facilities are super nice and equipped for the best experience you could ever have being a classroom.
I never really liked to have online classes because I had the terrible mania of procrastinate everything, however when I had to take my first online class on SDSU it was the most amazing experience ever. First I could do my class at my own pace any time I wanted. Then my professors were always available to chat on email or have a zoo meeting to clarify any questions or concerns I had. In my online class i always had different and interestings assignments that always challenge myself to improve some skill or make the process of learning funnier and more interesting. Without any doubt I would take more online courses.
