South Dakota School of Mines and Technology Reviews
SD Mines could improve some of the older buildings on campus with renovations (which they have started to do). SD Mines could also improve with teachers being more trained in available technology. Teachers here are incredibly smart in their fields and they just need some extra training to work with students with the most recently available technology.
While the party scene isn't great, there are parties available to attend with 5 fraternities and 2 sororities, and there are generally parties every weekend.
The students are overall extremely friendly. You can go up to almost anyone you see, and if you need help with a class you're struggling in, they will either help you or point you in the direction of someone who can help. Not to mention, they added math tutoring that is available most of the day in the library.
While the diversity on campus isn't anything to brag about, it does continue to improve every year.
Downtown Rapid City is fun to explore with all the shops, and is close enough to campus to walk. The local hiking trails are fantastic, too.
Mines has a way of bringing out the best in people. Though the coursework can be challenging, it teaches invaluable professional skills that serve students beyond graduation. And for the price, there's simply no better return on investment in the country.
If there is any high school student out there scared of planning for the future, I strongly recommend you take a look at Mines. I promise you that you will not regret your decision.
