College Junior: I feel that I have had a great experience at NCAD so far. Each semester comes with a pre-selection of classes so there's no worrying about signing up in time, or not being able to get the classes that you want. I came to the school thinking I knew exactly what I wanted to do, but in just the first 4 semesters I've learned so much about different art careers that I changed my area of study! The work load of six classes every semester can be a little overwhelming sometimes, especially having to work also, but never have I felt like all the hard work wasn't worth it. The teachers there are very well rounded in the arts, while also having a specialty, and that's really what the school curriculum is about. The artists that are going to get paid for what they love to do, do it well, and have a wide range of skills under their belt. I really feel like NCAD recognizes real life challenges of being a working artist, since all of the teachers are artists themselves. I trust the teachers, and feel like they give me constructive criticism, for the better of my art and my future career. The school is very small too, so the class sizes are perfect, and there's always time to get one-on-one attention from any of the faculty at NCAD. Overall, if I could go back and do it all again, I definitely would still choose NCAD.
