Junior: I am a transfer student athlete and am planning to attend Dartmouth in the fall. What I loved on my visit was the family atmosphere amongst the faculty and the close relationships they had with their students. I believe that it is important to put an emphasis on undergraduate education and Dartmouth does that the best in comparison to any other school in the nation. From an athletic standpoint I feel like Dartmouth has all the tools and facilities to help me achieve my athletic goals. Coming from an institution that gives athletic scholarships, Ivy leagues do not have that availability. Freshman: From the moment I first stepped on the college grounds, I felt welcomed and at home. I I knew I had picked the right College. As I walked around the campus with the tour guide, I truly could picture myself being a student here at Saint Anselm. What I loved most was the myriad of places where I could relax, study and socialize outside of my dorm. Also, it felt like I was in my home with all the awesome Christmas decorations! Sophomore: After graduating from high school over 30 plus years ago, I am pursuing my Bachelors of Science Degree. I had so much anxiety about going back to school after being out for so many years. SNHU provided me with the resources I needed. The advisors took the time to speak with me. They eased my fear. Taking classes online allows me to work full time and also go to school full time. The syllabus and rubrics allow me to understand the expectations for each assignment. With these tools, I have been very successful in each of my courses. SNHU provides other resources that I can utilize as needed. There are writing advisors, sources to help students with citing sources for assignments, and representatives to give assistance that all contribute to my success. Senior: Rivier University is great if you want small class sizes and a small campus environment and community. All of my classes have been less than 30 students, and most were 15 or less. As a part of the biotechnology program, I have reaped the benefits of a brand-new science building and lab spaces. There is also a brand-new business and nursing building opening in fall 2022 as well as new dorms being added to campus. If you want a school with small class sizes where you know everyone who lives in your hallway and seeing friendly faces every time you walk to class, Riv is for you! Senior: Colby-Sawyer College is in a very secluded area and has close to a thousand students who live on campus. The fall is personally my favorite time of the year at this school, because it comes before all the harsh winter that is endured a majority of the school year. Students (for the most part) are pretty familiar with each other and many professors offer extra attention if need be. However, I would like to see more campus life and athletic participation in the fan section from this school. What separates the experience from Colby-Sawyer and other schools is the party experience (especially feeling like you're in a safe space at one), location, and athletics. Junior: The best part about FPU, for sure, is the community. Everyone on campus is welcoming, loving, and personable. The support and positivity that run through campus are unmatchable. Another great aspect is the classroom. The class sizes are reasonably small which allows students to create a professional relationship with their professors. All the professors care about the well-being of their students and are deeply invested in quality education. Campus food might not be the selling point, but the people who make and serve it definitely are! Many of our staff also create bonds with students, such as the dining hall staff. Some of them even go as far as joining sports events to cheer on students or catch lunch with them at our local diner. Dorming is better than the food but not as good as some state schools I've seen. Alum: Magdalen College...how can I put into words the level of community, academics, and respect of human dignity that resides in such a school.
