Senior: I have to admit, as a St. Louis native who always dreamed of attending college in another state, Harris-Stowe State University wasn't even on my list of schools to consider. I spent my first year at Tuskegee University in Alabama. However, things did not work out there. Once I returned to St. Louis, I had no idea what the future entailed. By fate, I was introduced to Harris-Stowe by the president at the time, Dujuan Warmack. After stepping foot on campus and touring the school, I quickly caught on to family-like feel with it being a very small institution. That was something that stood out to me. I could tell that if I attended that I wouldn't be just another number in the classroom. Alum: Honestly DePauw was great. I think I genuinely got the best education possible while at this school, especially due to the emphasis on liberal arts. I do think that the pandemic meant that I missed a lot of opportunities, however. Missing out on internships and other important experiences set me back a bit when looking for a job after graduation. I did find a one though! Also, the library construction took a long time and left us with very limited study space options which was frustrating even if it really needed the update. Sophomore: I wanted independence and time alone to spend doing the things I wanted, figuring out who I am and what I want to do when I came to IUP. Alum: Loyola University New Orleans is, for me, then place where new experiences are formed. My first years there was a little roller coaster because of multiple factors. Alum: North Dakota State University was some of the best experiences I have had in my life. This includes academics such as internships as well as extracurriculars. There was always something going on during the week and on the weekends to get you involved in the NDSU community or the Fargo community at large. When I got in to my major, my classes became more focused and smaller so that I was better able to focus and be more comfortable in class. Senior: UMaine is a beautiful campus. I am from the state, and it is a perfect school to transition into as an individual. I transferred from EMCC, so as expected a few credits didn't transfer over smoothly. Minus that hiccup I've had a great time back on campus after the pandemic. There are loads of clubs to join and ways to be involved as a student. I definitely recommend this school to people; we have a lot of people from out of state that attend here so it's also great to meet new friends from different places. The only real thing I'd like to see change would be advisor involvement in regard to financial aid and scholarships. Overall, my experience at Radford has been positive and one that will help influence my life and career decisions. However, there are specific changes that I would reccomend for the future: the housing process, safety on campus, and being heard by the people in charge. The housing process has a few too many hoops to jump through and getting a desirable placement is almost impossible. Furthermore, issues with roommates or suitemates are never handled correctly as a result of RA and RD incompetence. On campus, safety is felt throughout, but a lack of information in unsafe situations leaves everyone with too many questions than answers.
