Freshman: I absolutely loved my first year at SAGU! I’ve never been a part of such an encouraging environment. Everyone at SAGU is pulling for each other to succeed and grow closer to God. The professors genuinely care about each student. The professors always welcome questions and they encourage critical thinking. They want to make sure that students really learn the material for themselves and apply it to their lives. The only thing I would change about the school is the cafeteria food. Sometimes it’s a hit or miss. It can be good or there can be hardly any options at times. However, the school is changing its provider for the food, so it should get better! Freshman: The College of Health Care Professionals provides students with a chance to get a certification or degree in a much shorter time period than the traditional 4-year university. This allows high school graduates interested in the medical field to get their feet wet and build their way up in a competitive field of study. CHCP is a small campus which allows staff members to effectively attend to student needs. Weather it's providing daycare facilities, ways to receive scholarships, or just have laughs and talks about the day. Teachers and counselors provide the right motivation, aid, and curriculum to make sure all the students enrolled graduate and complete the course. CHCP provides externships where students will get to put the skills, they have been taught by their teachers in practice in hopes to eventually be offered a job at the extern site. Graduate Student: I am an X-Ray student now but, was a former Medical Assistance student and when I was attending the MA course alot of the instruction was really easy because it didn't challenge me, however when I had Ms. Breeden's classes it was challenging and made you think about the course and the material that was being taught. Sophomore: San Jacinto College is a Community College that is beneficial to students trying to save money on classes. My experience here is great as I am getting an opportunity to learn and get educated from the professors that take their time and work hard to teach the students making them a better student overall. I have taken many classes and I am learning a lot of new things every day. The student life here is good, they have different events going on here in the Student Center every other month. Junior: What I like about Southwestern Adventist University is that it is a close-knit university filled with diversity and love. Junior: My experience at DBU has been truly wonderful. I honestly believe that no other Christian private university stresses to the extent DBU does of integrating Christ into their education, activities, career preparation, etc. All the faculty and staff are extremely intentional, loving, and caring whether in class or at work, their number one priority is to help the students in any way they can. The price of DBU is deceiving because there are so many scholarships to help bring the cost down dramatically. My favorite thing about DBU is the community and relationships I have made here. I have made my lifelong best friends here. All students live on campus and there are close to no parties on campus. Junior: I am actually attending Concordia University right now. I have so far liked it, I feel it is a good fit because I am from the city and with this campus being in the middle Austin, I feel more at home. This is not a school that just “wants to take your money”, it is a school that actually wants to see you succeed and get you to the next point in your life! Sophomore: Overall, my community college was and still is an amazing experience! All of the professors that I've had throughout my years of being enrolled in the institution were always very professional and helpful when it came to students needs while taking their course. Every professor went above and beyond to make sure I grasped the different subjects that were discussed if I ever at one point lacked any understanding. Sophomore: Howard Payne is a very small university that values southern hospitality, its surrounding community, and Gods true calling. There are lots of fun activities and organizations available to join on campus! Some of which include social groups, sports teams, and intramural! Alum: I have only the best memories as a student at the University of Houston Clearlake (UHCL). I started at the UHCL with zest and enthusiasm for learning. My program counselors were so amazing in how they saw me as a student that was ready to take on a Master’s Program. They provided me with all of the guidance and support to be successful. Junior: Great University. I can only speak in my experience attending UNT's College Of Business and the instructors I engaged with. All considered tuition here is more affordable than most, pair that with highly qualified instructors I saw in classrooms, Id say you GET the most bang for your buck and then some. I was lucky enough to enroll just as the University completed construction of a new COB building. A hugely upgraded facility from what I expected, lucky timing I suppose. Most importantly I truthfully enjoyed attending class, regardless of how hard we partied on Fry St. the previous night. NEVER imagined myself saying those words before attending this University. Junior: Texas Woman's University is an amazing school. I am a nursing student at the Houston campus. I have learned so much in my short time attending. I have only spent a semester at TWU and I absolutely love it. The professors are very knowledgeable and they are really good at teaching and making lectures engaging. The professors have been nice, understanding, and very professional. Although the content they teach can be difficult, they deliver it in a way that is easy to understand. They really let you know their expectations from the beginning and it sets you up for success in their classes. Even after our first exam, some of the students that struggled with the first exam had one on one meetings with our professors to see what areas the student needed help with.
