Freshman: I have only taken summer classes but have had amazing teachers! I am fully online. I like being online because I feel it is more of a one-to-one. If I need help I can have a zoom meeting or email session. The two favorite classes I have taken so far are ethics and psychology. Everyone was telling me I would not like ethics class and that it was boring. My ethics teacher was amazing! She made the class very interesting! Junior: Martin Luther College is a smaller university located in the small town New Ulm, MN. I have always pictured myself going to a big city and enjoying the big city life, but Martin Luther surprised me with its' small family charm. I love the atmosphere here and all of the professors and faculty genuinely care about each student and build close relationships with everyone. The courses offered are also quite interesting because most students are on an education track so every course is demonstrating how to best teach. Junior: Personally, I love this place. The staff is incredibly welcoming and helpful and there are lots of resources if you need them. The facility is clean and the environment is pleasant for learning or studying. There are also lots of clubs and events to get involved in as well as opportunities like scholarships! Classes, at least the ones I've been in, are small and you can get to know your professors and peers. There are programs for certain majors and plenty of classes to choose from, except some of them may be online instead of at the campus. However, if you're struggling with an online class, M State offers tutoring programs to help you get on your feet, just one of the many helpful services they make available. Sophomore: I had the pleasure of attending Riverland Community College after graduating High School. When I graduated high school, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in computers. So by attending Riverland I got to explore my options when it comes to a career in computers. The instructors are phenomenal and truly care about your success. I never felt afraid of going to my instructor when asking for help. During my time at Riverland, I participated in Drama Club, IT Workstudy, and Student Senate. I felt by participating in these groups, I increased my interpersonal skills. After almost being done with Riverland, I truly found out what I want to do for a career. I have decided to pursue a career in the Motion/Performance Capture industry. So I will be transferring to UW Stout in fall 2021. Freshman: Overall, the staff are very patient and understanding. This would be a 5 star college, but there were a few problems I had while enrolled. One of my teacher's never responded to emails. Another one of my professors was very removed from his online class. He did not give lecture videos and we only learned from reading a book. We never really conversed with the teacher. Freshman: This is my first year of college and I could not be more pleased. Everyone has been so helpful from the receptionist to my advisor. The instructors are very personable, which has made my first year a lot more enjoyable. They offer lots of great programs and transfer programs, which is what first caught my attention. Sophomore: Most of my courses for NHCC were online. Therefore, I don’t know too much about its athletics or food. There is, however, a lot of diversity within the students. The campus is also fine, but the internet connection can be really horrendous. You’ll have to move around to find a place with better connection. Overall, NHCC’s educational services are quite online savvy and I haven’t had any issues with the professors. In fact, most of the professors I’ve had at NHCC are extraordinary. Their teaching styles, attitudes, passion, and organization skills are infinitely better than more costly institutions I’ve been enrolled at. They are able to teach students the material effectively and they strive to assist their students so that the course doesn’t have to be more difficult than necessary.
