Freshman: I wouldn't change much about skyctc bowling green campus, expect for the fact that it's only a two year institution. I would love to carry out a bachelor's at this campus. The staff is very friendly, informative and helpful. I have learned so much going to this college for only a year and have learned so much about myself and academically. I love that the professors believe so much in their students and go way beyond what is expected of them to make sure we succeed. Personally I think it's probably one of the best campuses in the state as far as students and staff. All throughout highschool I barely passed my way through, my first year here at skyctc I made the dean's list with a 3.8 GPA. That says alot for how far the professors/staff go to make sure their students understand the material they are teaching. Sophomore: I have always had a positive experience at WKCTC. My experience here started when I took Dual Credit classes at WKCTC through my highschool. Junior: MCTC is a great school because of the learning experience. There is more opportunity for one-on-one time with your professors due to smaller class sizes, and the financial aid office is very flexible and willing to help you however they can. Junior: I love BCTC. The whole experience has been wonderful so far. I don’t feel like a number. I feel seen and cared for. Each staff member I have come into contact with, overall, has been very kind and knowledgeable. These people know what they are doing! I appreciate the small class sizes, buildings, and classrooms. It feels more homey to me, rather than a grey, cold environment. A bit like a warm hug when I walk in the doors or log onto the website. I have found the advisors and the student center to be very helpful. I was like a deer in headlights when I first started anything having to do with college, but the staff in these positions have helped guide me in the right direction. It has been neat to see it all unfold in front of me, whereas I felt I would be walking in the dark. I would 100% recommended BCTC to a friend or anyone looking to begin or further their career. Sophomore: This community college has helped me a lot. When I needed help with my academic plan and choosing the right path, I have been offered several knowledgeable advisors right away. The admission staff, instructors, advisors, and even my fellow students have helped me obtain A's in all my classes last semester! Every time I needed further guidance for my projects and tasks, the instructors were there giving me all the information and advice that I need. Moreover, the finance office staff processes my financial aid right away and I have received my financial awards and scholarship in no time! I wish they had a 4-year school/university. Junior: This is my second semester at Madisonville as a nursing student. I am impressed with how the professors really want to see you succeed. The school is very conveniently located in the middle of town close to the parkway and easy to find, there is plenty of parking and always someone to help. All buildings on campus are labeled clearly so you can find exactly where you need to go. I go to the health sciences campus which is conveniently located right next door to the hospital for all clinical needs. Sophomore: My advisor, Megan Horne has made my experience fantastic. I was struggling when I first came to ACTC because I had just transferred from a four year university. Junior: Big Sandy is such a great community college. I have been there since 2018 and the teachers and staff are wonderful. They will answer your questions, help when needed, and patient when you are totally confused. Especially when I was a freshmen, they were very helpful. Sophomore: I absolutely love the professors I’ve had. They’re all helpful, and so understanding, I remember coming into Hazard my first day. I was terrified, I didn’t know what to expect and honestly, it’s been some of the best times of my life so far. My first professor has got to be my favorite that I’ve had, he made math fun for us. And on the days that we didn’t have work, we’d all just sit around and talk about Marvel. If I could see something change about the college I would definitely say that some of the professors should reply to their emails when a student needs help on a subject. Sophomore: Attending Elizabethtown Community & Technical College has been a very special experience for me. My mom, dad, brother all attended ectc, so it feels extra special to be continuing that on, almost like a tradition. Although many young people would prefer to attend a university, in my opinion what makes ectc so special is the fact that it is a community college, it feels like a small town where everyone knows each other. I have found myself making great relationships with students and teachers. One thing I would want to change at ectc is the activity rate, I want to encourage more students to help out around the school or even join clubs.
