Freshman: I am a pre-med freshman and my experience so far has been pretty good. The professors are very invested in helping you understand the material, and I see this in my science, math, and humanities classes. There is a greater teacher to student ratio and class sizes are only about 20 students, so professors can spend more time in helping students individually. Additionally, our school is small so the students are more connected and familiar with each other. Millsaps also provides great opportunities for research and internships, as well as preparedness for medical school and the interviews that come beforehand. The cafeteria food is a bit difficult sometimes, and (as a commuter) I hear a few complaints about housing (freshman dorms in particular). Freshman: My first year at the W was amazing! They have some of the best professors, who are willing to help you. They also have many different programs . They have a great library with many different resources I used it a lot this semester. Not to mention the amazing advisor they have which is good to have in college. They build a lot for their program but not as much for the students who live on campus. Their dorms on the south side of campus where freshman and sophomore’s live are horrible. They’re extremely old and some rooms even have mold. They are also over priced. For old dorms like that it should be less than 1,200 to live in them . They are also not kept up well. Another thing they don’t have enough scholarships for upperclassmen. Most of their scholarships are for transferring students and upcoming freshman. Which I think is unfair to the students who have been attending their. But overall I think it’s a great school education wise, with a great community everyone is so nice.... Read 343 reviews

Sophomore: What I liked about Mississippi Valley State University is that it was home away from home. When I first became a delta devil, I was shy, didn’t know anyone, didn’t even really know my way around campus but everyone on campus was so nice and helpful that the shy me forgot that I was even shy in the first place. I wouldn’t change anything about Valley, the campus itself is perfect just the way it is. The bond that you grow with the teachers are amazing. They treat you like family when you’re not even related. Being a student is really a tremendous experience. Valley offer so many student activities that can really bring you out your shell. Help with course work or even personal problems are always payed attention to when you need it. There is always events on campus that help with getting everyone on campus to interact with each other.
